Ken Hooks, RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technician) will be presenting how orofacial architecture can directly impact the dynamics of airflow, which can result in sleep-disordered breathing. Ken will discuss the importance of sound sleep, and the many ways in which lack of sleep can affect the body in both adults and children. He will also explain how the methodology he has developed for analyzing sleep study results differs from the norm and how important it is to look at the raw data instead of averages.
Learning Outcomes
The participant will be able to:
Identify and correlate mid-face deficiency with sleep disordered breathing.
Understand, analyze and report data from standard sleep study reports.
